‘Kan Pamenar’ to vie at Joburg filmfest

Iranian feature ‘Kan Pamenar’ has made way to the Joburg Film festival in South Africa.

Iranian feature ‘Kan Pamenar’ has made way to the Joburg Film festival in South Africa.

Directed and produced by Ashkan Darvishi, the film will represent Iran at the 2023 edition of the event.

‘Kan Pamenar’ is a narrative of the arduous life of the labor kids, who live in disadvantaged neighborhoods of the city. The film also has an eye on supporting little immigrant Afghan girls.

Siamak Safari, Babak Nouri, Alireza Ostadi, Neda Hosseini, Sirous Hemmati, Mehdi Tarokh and Fariba Kowsari are notable among the cast members of the flick.

“The Joburg Film Festival is strategically positioned to become Africa’s Premier Film Festival through the curation and showcasing of African and International films whilst providing youth and filmmakers with various opportunities for development, training, skills transfer and networking” the media wrote about the festival.

The 5th edition of the event is scheduled for Januar 31 – February 5, 2023.
